MartinWood is home to a wide range of sporting and leisure activities to suit every taste. On the doorstep of Algonquin Park, our guests can enjoy a range of active experiences whatever the time of year.
The extensive OFSC County snowmobile trails are right at MartinWood’s doorstep (the E109 goes right by our property). Secure overnight parking is available. Ask about our special group rates. Canoes, kayaks and rowboats are available in the summer.
Boating:
Tour spectacular Benoir Lake in a canoe, kayak or paddle boat. No matter what your fitness level is, we have a boat to make your experience enjoyable. And for land lovers, we have a spacious dock to let you get close to the water without getting wet!
Swimming:
Enjoy clean, clear water in Benoir Lake while you are a guest at MartinWood Resort.
Fishing:
At MartinWood Resort we fish all year. From the dock or from boats in the warm weather and through the ice in the winter, we’re well stocked with Pickerel, Muskie, Bass and Northern Pike. Please let the kitchen know if you would like help preparing your catch for a delicious feast!
Geocaching:
We’re well located for this new sport in the heart of Canada’s Geocaching Capital! Bring your GPS and get ready to hunt for treasure!
Rock Hounding:
For those who like to dig for nature’s gems and minerals, we’re located in a geologically unique area. Guided tours are available in nearby Bancroft, named as Canada’s Mineral Capital. For those who want to explore on their own, nature’s treasures are easy to spot!
Hiking:
Enjoy exploring our 800 acre property or take a trip to Algonquin Park. Enjoy the scenery and all the animals along the way. For those who want a more interactive experience, guides are available for a reasonable fee.
Mountain Biking:
Trek around the MartinWood property or venture into Algonquin Park. From flats to hills, the terrain is as challenging as you need it to be and the view will amaze you. Enjoy spotting wildlife as you rip up the trails!
Rentals are available for those who travel light.
Horseback Riding:
Our fabulous neighbour Tammy will take you and all of your friends on the trail ride of a lifetime with the help of her team at South Algonquin Trails.
